Atanas will be running two masterclasses to demonstrate the capabilities of both V-Ray Next for Maya and V-Ray Next for 3ds Max.

Tracing the path ahead for VFX

If spaceships, mysterious sci-fi structures, and a hazy alien planet catches your attention, then this Masterclass is for you! 3D Artist Atanas Tudjarov will guide you through the Chaos Group 3D team’s detailed process for developing a sci-fi scene from concept to production using V-Ray GPU Next for Maya. We’ll demonstrate several new interactive features for look development, such as the new AI Denoiser and debug shading options for lighting and texturing. We’ll also see blazing fast new GPU features in action, such as rendering Volumetric Fog for simulating a realistic atmosphere, as well as bucket rendering on GPU for production. You’ll also learn about smart new optimizations for V-Ray Next, including the new Adaptive Dome Light, GPU-specific V-Ray Material and render interfaces, and a redesigned GPU architecture for up to 2x faster render results. Lastly, we’ll discuss the new Lens Effects for adding Bloom and Glare, and how Cryptomatte support for GPU and the ability to denoise separate render elements gives you even more flexibility and control for compositing.

Building the old street: The creative and technical processes behind a wintry scene

In this presentation, CG Specialist Atanas Tudzharov will break down The Old Street, a snowy fairy tale scene. He’ll show how V-Ray can work with tools such as Substance Designer, Marvelous Designer, ZBrush and Ornatrix to create beautiful renders. You’ll learn about everything from the initial concept, through modeling and lighting, to rendering and post effects. Atanas will also give you an inside view of the creative process behind assets, environments, and characters.
