Inside the Technical Production of The Lion King

Not long after the success of Disney's The Jungle Book, MPC Film began work on the retelling of another Disney classic: The Lion King. Hear how MPC R&D had to solve a number of technological challenges to bring this classic tale back onto the big screen, in a new, highly photo-realistic look.

Utilizing realtime technology for Advanced Filmmaking

Virtual production is the process of producing a film with computer generated imagery using traditional filmmaking methodologies. Graham Bell from MPC R&D will talk about Genesis, Technicolor’s proprietary virtual production platform, and how MPC Film uses the technology for aspects such as multi-user interaction, scouting locations, set dressing, and recording imagery through virtual cameras.
