A Look Back at the Bluegfx Expo16
Last Thursday we hosted our 7th instalment of the Bluegfx Expo and are delighted with how it went.
We had over 300 visitors though the door from the world of games development, design visualisation, VFX and VR - all there to listen to speakers leading the way in these fields and to check out the latest developments in 3D design technology.
“Going to the event is like a mini tutorial in things you didn't know you could do that are really cool”.
This year’s speaker list was phenomenal, with the likes of Framestore presenting the VFX challenges they had working on Marvel’s Doctor Strange, Figment Productions sharing their pioneering work on VR rollercoasters and VR wizards REWIND talking about how brands are engaging with VR (to name just a few).
You’ll note the emphasis on VR this year. It’s still such a hot topic and increasingly our clients are investing in it, therefore we didn’t want to waste an opportunity to bring together the VR trailblazers we know to share their journey. It’s also a good excuse to bring out the Vive for a play!
“Excellent day, especially all the VR talks. They really help me keeping informed which is important for my job”.
Product launches
We were honoured to have two exclusive product launches at Expo16: SiNi Software – toolsets to enhance 3D artists’ productivity and workflow, and PanelForge - the new Drawing, 3D Layout, Storyboard and Animatic production software developed by mutli-BAFTA award winning animation studio, Blue Zoo.
SiNi Software products are now available to buy from Bluegfx, and PanelForge will be available to buy exclusively from Bluegfx in 2017.
Product demonstrations
Attendees also enjoyed product demonstrations from the experts in 3ds Max 2017, Maya 2017, Stingray, Shotgun, After Effects, V-Ray and GPU rendering. The exhibition area was as busy as always with representatives from Workstation Solutions, Chaos Group, Adobe, Wacom, Autodesk, AMD, SiNi and YellowDog.
“If you want to know what kind of software you need to use and understand then Bluegfx is the place to be”.
Sponsors
The day wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors, so a huge thank you to Autodesk, Radeon Pro, Adobe and Chaos Group.
